Boards and Commissions

City Council

The Mustang City Council consists of a Mayor and six councilpersons. Each member of the City Council is elected to a three-year term. The Mayor is elected at large by all citizens of Mustang, while each Councilperson is elected by residents of his or her respective Ward.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission approves short form subdivisions of land and works with staff to prepare planning documents for the betterment and enjoyment of residents of the city.  It acts as an advisory body to the City Council in making recommendations on subdivisions of land, rezoning applications, conditional and special use permits, and changes to the Code.

Board of Adjustment

The BOA has the power to hear and decide special exceptions to the zoning ordinance to allow a use, or a specifically designated element associated with a use, which is not permitted by right in a particular district because of potential adverse effect, but which, if controlled in the particular instance as to its relationship to the neighborhood and to the general welfare, may be permitted by the board of adjustment, where specifically authorized by this chapter, and in accordance with the substantive and procedural standards of this chapter.

Leisure Services Board

The Leisure Services Board acts as an advisory board to the Mustang City Council on matters concerning the Parks and Recreation Department. The board meets the fourth Monday of every month in the Meeting Room located in Town Center. Leisure Board members are appointed by the Mustang City Council.

Mustang Traffic Commission meets the second Wednesday of every month, 10:00 am, at Mustang City Hall.
