Traffic Commission
Mustang Traffic Commission meets the second Wednesday of every month, 10:00 am, at Mustang City Hall.
Duties
Section 114-51 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Mustang (“Code”) describes the Commission’s functions as follows
Recommend speed limits
Recommend locations of stop signs and other traffic control devices and indicators on city streets.
Conduct studies as necessary and appropriate with prior approval of the city manager and, as appropriate with regard to the expenditure of funds, with approval of the city council or the city improvement authority as required by law.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as set forth in this chapter, subject to the terms and conditions contained in this chapter.
Forward written recommendations, as approved by a majority of the members of the Commission, to the city manager who shall have final authority to approve or deny the recommendations. Upon final approval by the city manager, the Commission or the director, as applicable, shall have the authority to take action necessary to implement the recommendations, subject to the following exception: In those cases where implementation of the recommendations would require the expenditure of public funds, then the expenditure shall be approved as required by law.

Traffic control and signage on State Highway 152 and State Highway 4 (N Mustang RD and S Sara RD) are the responsibility of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation ("ODOT").
The City of Mustang relies on the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices approved by the American Association of State Highway Officials and adopted by ODOT.
