Halloween is an evening where many families enjoy time together going door to door and walking through their neighborhoods. For years now children have made wonderful memories scaring friends and digging through piles of candy they received. In order to make this Halloween another fun memory, it is important that everyone plan for the weather and prepare to remain safe as they walk through their neighborhoods, especially as the sunlight disappears. It is always a good idea to include reflective material within the clothing/costumes your children wear, and it is important to have flashlights illuminated as you walk. It is important to know that October is National Pedestrian Safety Month. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a much greater percentage of pedestrian fatalities occur during nighttime (78%) compared to daylight hours (19%) and dusk/dawn (4%). Please pay attention to your surroundings, and watch for traffic in all directions, as you take your family for an evening of fun.

Thank you to all that donated money to our annual "Fill the Boot" program to assist in the fight against Muscular Dystrophy. Your donations topped $9,000. Interesting fact, we had over $1000 in change. It all adds up. Thank you Mustang!!
