Dear Commander,
I am submitting Mustang Fire Department Lieutenant Levi Setliff for consideration as Fire Department Employee of the Year.
Lieutenant Setliff began his firefighting career as a volunteer with the Mustang Fire Department in 2013. In January of 2014, Lieutenant Setliff transitioned into a full- time career firefighter with Mustang Fire In January of 2014, Lieutenant Setliff transitioned into a full- time career firefighter with Mustang Fire Department. Over the course of his career, he has served at the firefighter and Corporal level within the department, and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in January of this 2023. Lieutenant Setliff was raised in Oklahoma City and is a Graduate John Marshall High School. Prior to starting at Mustang Fire Department, Lieutenant Setliff attended Metro-Tech where he received an education in paramedicine. Shortly after attending school, Lieutenant Setliff became a Nationally Registered Paramedic and began his career as a full-time paramedic for Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) in April of 2005. Since joining the Mustang Fire Department, he has demonstrated his desire for self-improvement and the ability to excel at tasks assigned. Lieutenant Setliff is the Assistant EMS Coordinator for the Mustang Fire Department and is heavily involved in all aspects of delivering quality emergency medical care to the residence within the City of Mustang and those that visit our community. Lieutenant Setliff is a National Fire Academy Alumni member, and holds numerous fire certifications from Oklahoma State University Fire Service Training. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Lieutenant Setliff has been awarded the department’s Life Saving Award on three different occasions for his efforts, which aided in the successful resuscitation of a human life.
Over the course of this year, Lieutenant Setliff was assigned the task of finding a replacement to our expiring records management software. Levi researched numerous providers, before settling on a particular provider. Lieutenant Setliff has proven to be a vital asset making the transition to a new records management software. A transition of this magnitude is an extremely difficult and lengthy project to assume. Levi is extremely talented in this area and I know without a doubt, we would not be functioning or meeting any reporting standard if it were not for his efforts. I cannot express my gratitude for his work ethic and dedication not only to this project but to our department as a whole. We are blessed to have Lieutenant Setliff, and I am proud of him and how he serves this community.
Through Lieutenant Setliff’s dedication and commitment to improve the Mustang Fire Department and the City of Mustang, it is my honor to recommend Lieutenant Levi Setliff as Mustang Fire Department’s Employee of the Year for 2024.
