STORYBOOK TRAILS IN WILDHORSE PARK - The Mustang Public Library is gearing up for a new Healthy Literacy Program to get families moving and reading with its newest project - “Storybook Trails in Wildhorse Park.” The project was made possible when the library received a $9000 Health Literacy Grant from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and Institute of Museum and Library Services. There is still work to be done to get the program ready. There are plans to have a grand opening in Spring 2022.
“Story Book Trails in Wildhorse Park” is a way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. The library will place bright and engaging pages of a must-read picture book along a path and people will stop to read as they walk. Not only does it encourage walkers to read, but it also encourages readers to walk. The plan is to change the story on a quarterly basis.
