In 2016, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) rolled out a new regulation called “Revised Total Coliform Rule.” The City of Mustang’s compliance plan was submitted to ODEQ (Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality) this time last year. The "green boxes" are sample stations that allow the City of Mustang to comply with this new regulation.
The sites and units have been designated and approved by ODEQ. While the City of Mustang has a small degree of discretion as to alternate locations of the sample stations, a significant deviation from the existing, ODEQ approved plan would require ODEQ re-approval. The sample stations are all located within City of Mustang utility easements.
