The City of Mustang and its contractor, Wright Water, seek volunteer households to collect water samples for lead and copper testing. This effort, required by the EPA and Oklahoma under the Lead and Copper Rule, helps ensure safe drinking water. Wright Water will coordinate the delivery and pick-up of sample kits. Question – How do I get the sample bottles?
Answer – Complete the form or call 405-376-7710 or email slientz@wwicorp.com to confirm you want to participate in the lead and copper monitoring program. When the sampling begins a bottle with directions will be delivered to your residence.
Question – Where should I sample?
Answer—Read the “Instruction for Homeowner” that comes with the sample bottle. Avoid sample points with softeners or other “in-line” treatment systems.
Question – When do I sample?
Answer – Sample after the line has not been used for at least six hours.
