Have you seen these arrows around town and wondered what they are? These are Ground Control Points being utilized by surveyors conducting aerial surveys as part of a waterline design project along SH-152. Aerial surveys are conducted through the use of drone mounted LiDAR or powerful cameras that produce very high-resolution images that can be turned into topography though photogrammetry. The large painted arrows are easily identified in the aerial imagery and provide a point of reference on the ground.
