Mustang offers a high quality of life to its residents and a significant part of this is due to commercial business. We take pride in making Mustang a great place to live and one way we do this is by ensuring the buildings and construction work being done are to a high standard.

We require six (6) sets of plans for new commercial structures, we require three (3) sets of plans for commercial remodels. A more extensive remodel may require additional sets of plans, please contact us to determine if more copies are needed. 

The City of Mustang adheres to the 2018 International Code Council Codes as amended, approved and adopted by the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission ("OUBCC"). These codes include:

• 2018 ICC International Building Code

• 2018 ICC International Existing Building Code

• 2018 ICC International Fire Code

• 2018 ICC International Fuel Gas Code

• 2018 ICC International Mechanical Code

• 2018 ICC International Plumbing Code

We also recognize the OUBCC's amendment, approval and adoption of the 2020 National Electrical Code.

Commercial Plans may be sent to J.C. Carroll, Fire Engineer for review.  The applicant will be responsible for his consulting fees.

The Community Development Department has approved policies for clear span and footing design and construction.  For copies of these policies please contact (405) 376-9873. All designs, workmanship and materials must adhere to current standards.
